HELLO SPRING!

It’s nice to think that this marvelous screen once belonged to a noble lady from Biella.

The discovery of such a refined object, with floral designs and birds that recall an oriental world, left me speechless.

So, with the information that I did not have, I replaced it with my imagination.

The black silk of the panels on which delicate flowers and small colorful birds are embroidered on probably comes from Brianza, a land of silks and with an ancient manufacturing history.

The finely carved dark wood repeats the same floral motifs on the frame and each panel is tied with a flat brown cotton ribbon.

A bedroom, with a nice stone fireplace, a luxurious canopy bed, a iridescent velvet dressing gown thrown on an impero style chair, its grosgrain seat resulting scratched here and there by the lazy cat of the lady.

Camille, this is her name. She is French, daughter of a diplomat that travelled the world. Therefore, this is a precious object to her, that she wanted when she returned from her journey to the East.

Why do you ask yourself these questions, you might wonder?

Each environment, every object, even the smallest one, holds a story, and if it is vintage or old, probably even more stories.

This is what fascinates me.

This is my world, the one where I move around naturally, the one that I am passionate about since I was a girl.

My dream was to plan interiors, furnish houses in every detail, not for pure aesthetic, but often giving up the perfect order, the minimalism of showrooms, the law that rules aesthetic.

Not me.

I love commingling, the diversity, reading the soul of the objects, of the environments.

So, my blog starts from an idea: convey those emotions that old lost objects give, rooms with an antique feel to them, timeless design pieces, colors, flavors, scents that come out only when someone lives in them.

Like certain old movies, where the apparently scattered backgrounds tie in with the story of the characters.

Often times furnishing and moving furniture is confusing… but it’s not only this.

People misunderstand the role of the interior designer, because we don’t have a defined and recognized identity.

Who are we? Who am I?

This is a new subject… until next time.
