I believe you have… and I still do it!
When I was a teenager I had a yellow folder where I jealously treasured my doodles of imaginary houses.
This is what I enjoy doing: to create new environments, to alter spaces, to refresh known situations. It is a game in my head, first of all.
Imagine a Rubik’s cube: it will make you go crazy at first, but then, slowly, colors will come together, and you will feel satisfied. Other times the colors will remained unmatched, and that’s okay, too.
This is what I want to pass onto you: I have fun creating, but it’s not just a game.
There needs to be knowledge, expertise, and love, and all this comes with time, observation, and practice.
There is a lot of work in building a new space, it’s not just a creative exercise. Many people intervene in the realization and everything needs to match perfectly. I would say that it’s a mediation job. Then, everything becomes more interesting if you can make the client happy, make every artisan work well, and monitor costs.
Because we all desire the best result at the right price!
